Avondale Brewing Company
Avondale Brewing anchors one of Birmingham's great neighborhood revivals. Set in a beautifully restored early-1900s building — once a firehouse, bank, and streetcar stop — on 41st Street, the brewery helped transform the Avondale district into the city's liveliest strip of bars and restaurants. The lineup leans Belgian, from the Miss Fancy's tripel to saisons and seasonal specialties, all named with a wink at neighborhood lore (including Miss Fancy the elephant, who once lived in Avondale Park). The sprawling back lawn and stage make it as much a gathering place as a taproom.
