Back Forty Beer Company

Back Forty is one of the founding names of Alabama craft beer. Launched in 2009 in Gadsden — the 'back forty' being the overlooked acres of a farm, a nod to a state the beer world had long ignored — it fought the legislative battles that legalized modern craft brewing in Alabama and then proved the point with Naked Pig pale ale and Truck Stop Honey brown ale, two of the state's most recognizable beers. The Gadsden brewery remains the mothership, pouring taproom exclusives in the shadow of Lookout Mountain's southern tip.
